Clive and I opted for a lovely dinner out, just the two of us in Paris. We thought we would get Pru and Tony some time to their selves, not that they were bad company they are delight to be around. But being young and in love and in Paris we thought we would have a date.
We got nicely dressed and set out for a this spaghetti bar we read about in the lonely planet guide. It was meant to be quite trendy and the walls were always changed and updated as a gallery space.
I am guessing you see the them with our travels, we always discover new things around each corner and this time we definitely did. The restaurant/bar was to be on St Merci, which we found but we wandered down the wrong way and discovered a fabulous and very interesting fountain just near a Miro inspired sculpture.
After the fountain discovery and a quick cocktail we headed in the right direction to the restaurant…..
The food was fabulous! Entree was smoked salmon with cream cheese and dill with a shot of vodka each. Mains was pasta I had a pesto based one and Clive had a delicious chicken with a lemon cream sauce….I must learn to make this!
We also had a bottle of rose’.
The walls were all works of art, here was the main wall I faced all night.
After this we wandered the streets and came across a few pubs and bars, actually there was a lot of them. We had a few drinks and made friends…..
Then we wandered and discovered an icecream shop…….
Very creamy and very delicious! We walked the streets eating our ice cream and played the tourist by taking pictures of everything!
By now we had stopped at a few more bars and well….. we had more then our fair share and called it a night. I think we lasted out until 2am.
Here is a few picture of where we were staying with Tony and Pru in the Marais.
I think Luke O’Neil would be excited about this. I wanted to by a parasol to break just so I could get it repaired here. Tony said they do walking tours past this guys place in the Passage.
